Now it may seem a little quirky but one of THE best places to visit in Zurich (though you'll probably end up there anyway at some point in your travels) is the main train station or the Haupbanhhof, such a lovely word. The nerve centre of the the city's transport but that is only one of the reasons to visit. Architecturally, it is a beautiful building. It houses some cool moderm art structures which range from interactive to topical but never passe. the side ailes house many chocolate and other shops and as is the case with every central European city, lots of choice when it come sto tasty grub, ooh I love those smells, especially as they waft through the massive open airspace of the station.

Even sitting back and watching the hustle and bustle of probably THE busiest place in the city is worth a side seat, just kick back and enjoy the show. Of course, autumn and winter is a great time to sampple the hot chestnuts roasting on an open fire, hang on, that sounds familiar, but they are delicious, just the sort of treat to enjoy after a had day's shopping in the Old Town
